Weekend before last I was over in Inchelium and near Republic.
These are places in Washington that few folks see because they are so off the beaten path. The Colville Federated Tribes and their reservation land trusts take up much of this area, but the area is also home to abundant back country and diverse communities. I live to highlight these out of the way gems that seem to dot the maps a century or two too late.

I actually passed through your part of the country on a road trip myself last week Tim. I ended up camping out at Curlew Lake just a ways past Republic on the night of the 4th. Republic put on a great fireworks show out over the lake.
Here is a link to a picture of my campsite about 4 hours before the fireworks started. There is also a shot of the beautiful lake itself.
