Changes at the Ranch...

Unfortunately this year there will not be a Ruralgay/HighMountainRanch stampede.

The main road leading up to the ranch is going to be under construction and with all the difficulty people have had finding us over the years, it seemed impossible to host the event this year right in the middle of the project. The project is quite extensive as construction crews will be blasting out the hill immediately under and in front of the ranch.

For those of you looking forward to a summer event, check out the link below to Dave Jackson's Annual hoedown in Portland.

In addition to canceling this year's stampede, another big change is we are no longer going to publish the Ezine Meanwhile Back at the Ranch. It seems far easier to convert over to the blog format. We can make immediate changes and update fans on a much more timely basis without waiting for volunteer webmasters to find the time to make these changes. The old issues will remain posted.

Finally Check out the cool poem below. Gifted Randy Wallace originally posted this on the ruralgay.com newsgroup now hosted by Yahoo. This is reposted here with permission.

All Seasons All
Like a posie my heart falls down
In my throat a lump that's round
Like a dove my heart takes flight
My stomach, butterflies flap with might
Because you're standing at my right
All seasons all, morning noon and night
My heart is mine, my heart is yours
This love, it opens many doors
Standing grand, tall, a knight
Swooning large, a glorious sight
I know it's you at my right
All seasons all, morning noon and night
Parallel existent, fold and pleat
The day will come, we will meet
I, you, we'll know it's right
A roaring presence with no fright
You'll know it's me at your right
All seasons all, morning noon and night

To all my friends…

Alas! Its that time of year again when we all hope that it would just stop raining. That means it must be time for a BBQ dance party! This year’s party will be on the 2nd weekend in August (the 13th ), so mark your calendars now. As usual, the main BBQ will be provided by the host, and you should bring along your favorite dish to share with the masses.
Bring your dancing boots and hat as the dance hall will be open. Bring your tent if you want to camp over. For more information, follow the magic hyperlink.
