The curse that is Spokane Politics has now entered the Beltway, with the blessing of the White House. Corrupt and with blood on his hands Ormsby gets NO confirmation hearing? Meanwhile the AWOL Congresswoman McMorris refuses to debate her Democratic challenger? Democracy is caving. On both sides of the aisle.

Is anyone, anywhere still doubting that our Gypsy curse is alive and well??  For one we've got McMorris. Who is worse than anything that DC has seen in a long time, and don't forget this is the same district that gave the nation Tom Foley as Speaker of the House.  Remember the Republican Revolution of 94' and the contract on America?  Now our non-resident representative, who defines overqualified with her BA from a Florida college that is not even accredited won't even debate her opponent.  McMorris sports a voting record that is a shame.

But more importantly, how is it that Washington State's 5th District continually wields so much political power?  Seems a bit more than just coincidence.  Could the Cowles have anything to do with this and their extensive festering involvement in the Chicago Tribune and the New York Times?  Doesn't it seem a bit, well, weird that Spokane keeps having all these high ranking politicians who do squat for their district?

And now thanks to Democratic Senator Patty Murray, with complete cooperation from President Obama, we've gifted Ormsby to the nation, who is up to his eyeballs in blood, corruption, and whitewashed investigations.  Just how much money had to change hands to make this happen?

Why aren't the Cowles in jail?

Why is Washington State Attorney General, Rob McKenna endorsing Steve Tucker, even after Tucker's putting the taxpayers on the hook for millions? Why are these same politicians now claiming that a grand jury investigated this when to date, uh, there's no record of any such grand jury being convened?

And for the local take, go here:

The Spokesman Review endorsed McMorris, after doing a hatchet job on her competitor---who also is, or was, a beloved local media figure.  Little that our beloved paper prints can be trusted, which probably explains why The Inlander is the most read weekly in the nation. That's right, most read of any weekly, anywhere.

The Spokesman Review ruins people for sport.  Remember Mayor West?

The paper scrubs their websites anytime someone links unflattering information that puts justice within sight. What other news organization or family can claim an Ivy League, peer-reviewed study that documents a fear that is so great, that each respondent had to be guaranteed anoniminity?  Otherwise no one would speak up about the hold the paper wields in the region. Crossing the Cowles Empire is like pissing of Satan. And with that kind of flame, accurate journalism doesn't stand a chance. (The Cowles control 80% of the media in these parts)

This is the stuff of an HBO series.  Just like Deadwood, it would based on facts and unforgettable evil.  Lots of both.

I vote Glenn Close to play one of the Cowles chics and for Sarah Palin to play McMorris, only Palin would have to butch it up. Out sow the sow! Big time.

Ellen should play Patty Murray.

And now with Ormsby's payback, the drama goes all the way to the U. S. Senate and to the Obama Administration! Which means the nation can now share in our Gypsy Curse! How cool is that?

Of course, we'd have to have a title befitting of our fine civic HBO epic.  How about Spokanistan?!?  It's  sort of "family values" sounding. It hints of lots of blood. The title reeks of numerous people ruined by the same family.  And like the other "stan", like OMG! we are dang fond of poppies here too!

But instead of I U D's and the Taliban, we have disappearing journalists, accountants, and justice. And a woman killed by a parking garage.  Top that Kabul!

When the lip of that parking garage barrier rose up like a spoon and towed the front end of that Subaru off the seventh floor of that parking garage, the Cowles, through their decades of maneuvering might just as well have pushed her off the edge.

Which of course they deny.  "We didn't tell her to drive into our barriers to test them!" Claimed a Cowle family member.

Of course you didn't darling.

We like to tout Spokane as Near Nature; Near Perfect.  It's a great place to live, as the 7 wonders below prove.

But...

But maybe, with the Deadwood-Like corruption perpetrated by the Cowles, our slogan should be rephrased:

Spokane: Near Nature. Beyond Anarchy.

And home of the Whammy.

Where is Timothy Egan and why isn't he all over this? When will the national media begin to bring attention to our version of the Soprano's?

Finally, I never in my wildest dreams thought I'd be citing anything by Mark Fuhrman (Think O J Simpson) but even he's all over this now.
