In late July, I took brief leave from Santa Fe, embraced my first ride in a Caddy Sports car, and spent the afternoon with three quite brilliant and accomplished artisans. These were my companions...just after the ice rained from sky, the earth could not swallow another drop, and floods raged from nowhere.

These memories sustain me, through drought and whatever barrier I may encounter.
