The blessing of the artists, an nod toward where all our creativity originates, began in a mass celebrated in the cathedral pictured here. Nearly 200 artists who are part of Spanish Market brought their work to the altar for blessing and communion administered by the priests officiating the service. Following the mass, there is a procession out toward the plaza square, where all the artists and congregation, in union follow, the priests who then bless the marketplace.
