Why Four Wheel Drive Is...

Not an Option. The mud, here shown partially frozen, is the worst its been this year.
Now, I live a mile and a half off the pavement. For the last 6 months it's been impossible to get home without all wheel drive and some stout ground clearance. The snow, the ice, and now the mud...it's all good even when it ain't.
One particularly bad day I had to be winched out-nearly a 1/4 mile. Very embarrassing.
The tow truck guy-well he thought it was real funny that my truck was buried in a snow berm so high that I had to crawl out the passenger side window to get out.
Real funny-that is until even with his wheels choked, he also slid right into the same drift. No more Ford jokes after that. Uh huh. No sir, from then on it was all about how this is the worst winter he's ever seen and blah blah blah.
