Yet another opinion on demographic political swings...

How did it come to be that just 24% of the voting electorate...is/was able to control the national agenda during the first six years of the Bush Administration?

How did a minority vote, the Christian conservative movement, gain so much disproportional power?

Of the roughly 28% of the population that claims to be evangelical or "born again", roughly 24% vote Republican and 4-5% vote Democrat.

Then add in a few other factors...

First, roughly half the population that is eligible to register to vote, will actually take the time to register.

Of that amount, between 25% to 40% of those registered voters will actually vote.
