Back in the day when I was still trucking, I remember picking up several loads of clothing in strange isolated warehouses in Orange County, California. All of the workers in these facilities seemed afraid, no one spoke any english, and on a couple of occassions while waiting for loads to be ready, I'd check in early in the morning...
Late into the night when I finally got loaded, I realized that the same "employees" who I'd seen at dawn, were still working at midnight. I've always wondered about those frightened and skittish people that I saw hunched over sewing machines...
