An infamous "gay" rite of passage...I guess...

ABBA vs. Joan Crawford

I guess this movie is a classic...I've never actually seen it...But, I've heard references spoken about it by my gay friends ever since I came out...
Sometimes it seems that many gay men share a common language, talents, and many arrive at similar sensibilities in taste, culture, and style. I've seen it when I sit with my mom and watch the home decorating channel. I've been kidded about being out of the loop for a long time.

I didn't know who Martha Stewart was until I had to fingerprint a load of Martha Stewart Living in a Missouri "Big K" K-Mart Superstore. So I admit that in terms of fashion, culture, and the latest trends, I live in the dark ages.

But ABBA-now that's something I can claim familiarity with. When I was a kid a friend of mine had family from Romainia and she introduced me to ABBA long before they became popular in the states. I used to sing at the top of my lungs the lyrics to this song while feeding horses or cleaning stalls. The horses seemed to like Abba. I don't think they appreciated my contribution. Oh yeah, if your listening/watching this at work, you might want to turn the volume down due to violence and strong language...
