From this Wonderland...Winter in the Selkirks...
Due to all the natural disasters that rolled through (and over) the U. S. during the fall, we've been swamped at work. Just because a holiday is listed on the calendar does not mean Ma Nature takes the day off. To try to keep up with the volume of folks needing assistance during very difficult natural disasters, I worked over the holidays. To try to salvage something of the Merry Merry and Happy Happy, my family came to visit between Christmas and New Years. Here's a few shots of how we spent our Christmas season.
A brave young woman and her new sled. Complete with arm strong steering and manual assisted brakes. The day after these pictures were shot, the sleigh came to an abupt end. Apparently Ms Kelcy found it quite difficult to multi-task. The distraction of powder flying up into her eyes was just too much. The solution? Shut the eyes, hold on and wait until...
Well, that would be wait until the sled either lost speed or it collided with some sort of stationary object.
In this case a pole.
Kelcy came out of the collision just fine. The brand new sled? Not so much.
Happy New Year-albeit a little late...
I hope everyone has a very prosperous and happy new year...
Even as the year has started out quite rough on the financial side...
Challenged by ma nature...
Full of uncertainty on the policital front...
Let's just hope that as all these difficult storms cause uncertainty that the worst is already behind us...
