We are nearing that point in the year where the sun only reigns over the sky for 6 1/2 to 7 hours a day. So far, we've been spared from a repeat of last years end-times like snowpack. This lack of snow makes all the dark hours seem, well, darker than usual. Yet whatever oppressive darkness we've experienced at night seems more than made up for in the explosion of color we've witnessed at dawn and dusk.
