Getting Your Wonder On

While my neice Kelcy was here, I caught this picture of her looking out the window at the Wild Turkeys. It was a magical moment. I think seeing a young person's joy at things that most of us take for granted is a true blessing. These days so many people have given up on Wonder. They live in a state of never ending been there, done that. Everything in life is broken into a spreadsheet mentality. Each experience must have a price, a cost, a motivation, and acheiving our goals becomes more important than the experience of the journey along the way. I know these are not new sentiments. They are repeated so often that they've become cliches. Even now, as we are all in a state of detox after the emotional pull of the holidays, to know wonder still seems a bit of a stretch. After all we still have to get through February. The days remain gray and cold. The light is still fleeting.

But why not get your wonder on? Maybe even in this state of exhaustion there is still a bit of wow, in some hidden, unexplored place, yet capable of inspiring us.

Imagine this is the last day you have. How would you choose to spend it? What could get your wonder on?
