Snow angels and finding your inner meltdown

It was a magical time last Winter...in Leavenworth.

We made snow angels...

We walked among the lights...

We remembered our trip last year, the last Christmas we spent with our grandmother....and how she'd been so happy to walk among the shops, choosing each gift with perfect care...

Kelcy learned about Snow Angels...
Surprise blizzards, that came out of nowhere when uncle Tim shook branches...She learned about wet clothes and hot chocolate and about Rudolph, who is rumoured to hang out in Leavenworth...

And in this form,

This angelic shadow,

Cut with a flourish through deep powder...

I did not feel that we were entirely alone.

Indeed other angels watched over us...

From far, far above...

Building Dreams

As I've settled in after selling the house, the future and the next big dream has been front and center on my thoughts. Its been a strange transition and I've had a lot of time to consider what lies ahead.

Over the last six months I've watched my friends John and Laurie pursue some of their dreams, as they, like me, sold a home they'd lived in for years and began preparations for the next chapter in their lives. As the memories from their old place begin to fade, new ones await.

This is their new home, built by Whisper Creek Homes. It literally was up in a day. Since these shots were taken, the house now includes both a front and rear porch, a 30 year composite roof, and a view of the Western Selkirk Crest, that is in a word, priceless.

Below is a chronological set of pictures showing the construction party. Notice I couldn't resist taking a shot of the brand new Peterbilt that delivered the home. :) (some things never change...)

Above is a picture of where I'd like to put a similar home...

Someday.

Enjoy!

A home raising...

If you build it...they will come...or so the saying goes.

Here are some shots taken last november, when my friends John and Laurie began construction of their new ranch home....

The home was made by Whisper Creek Log homes. Their website is found here:

Stay tuned for a final set of pictures once the home is completed...
